A full day of reviews, presentations and shooting!

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of street photography and sharpen their visualisation skills.

Workshop outline

We will will start the morning with introductions and a review of your previous work.

We will then look at examples of good (and bad!) street photography and discuss various styles and approaches. We will also look at the work of other photographers to provide context and inspiration and to get you thinking about some goals for the workshop and beyond.

After a quick technical check-in we head out to make photographs. Julia will be shooting alongside you, offering tips and suggestions. You'll also get to see how she approaches working on the street.

After a quick lunch we'll continue shooting. During the afternoon session you'll be working on assignments or practicing techniques and approaches that are linked to goals you identified earlier in the day. Assignments are tailored to suit your level of experience.

To get the most out of the day (and the light!) we'll finish shooting around 5.30pm (or even a bit later). After we finish feel free to hang around for a drink and continue talking about street photography!

Essentials

Meeting place and shooting locations

Shooting locations are chosen for the opportunities they provide for street photography, taking into account easy access by public transport, seasonal factors (weather and light) and whatever events might be happening on the day.

Workshop hours are 9:30am - 5:30pm(ish).

We meet at a location in the heart of town that's easy to get to. Shooting locations will be confirmed a week or two before the workshop date.
