Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for all levels of street photography. Julia will help you gain confidence shooting street, refine your existing approach to shooting and focus on the development of your street photography vision.

Online session 1

Wednesday 9th August 7:30pm

We start the workshop with a review session of a selection of your street images and a conversation about styles and approaches to street photography and why we are each drawn to particular kinds of photographs and ways of working.

Julia will use her own images and the work of other photographers to provide context and inspiration and to get you thinking about your goals for the workshop and beyond.

Saturday

12th August

10:30am - 4:00pm

On Saturday we will head to the EKKA to make photographs. Julia will be shooting alongside you, offering tips and suggestions. You'll also get to see how she approaches working on the street.

Julia will invite you to work on assignments or to practice techniques and approaches that are linked to the goals you identified during the online session. Those assignments will be designed to increase your confidence and help you to make more interesting photographs, and will be tailored to your level of experience.

We finish shooting around sunset and do a quick review of the day before we relax over coffee or a drink and talk more street!

Sunday

13th August

10:30am - 3:00pm

On Sunday we will meet at the EKKA and continue shooting. We will start the day with a quick meet up session over coffee to discuss any issues you may have had on the previous day.

Following Sunday's session you will be asked to email Julia ten images taken on the weekend for an online review session on the following Wednesday.

Online session 2

Wednesday 16th August 7:30pm

This session is optional for those who would like a follow up review/feedback session on the images made during the weekend.
